June 12, 2022
Five basic schools of the Municipal Education Department of Mugina on Thursday, June 9, 2022 received 105 benches. This donation, worth two million and two hundred and fifty thousand Burundian francs, was granted by the association CDN (Cibitoke Diaspora Network). According to the association’s executive secretary, Mr. Rémy Niyirera, this school material was given to meet the needs of these schools with regard to school desks.
«This action is also part of the accompanying actions pursued by the CDN to contribute to the development of the province Cibitoke in all its spheres. And there is no shortage, these school desks are added to the others already granted to the municipal department of education in Murwi.
Niyikiza David, municipal councillor for education in Mugina, expressed his gratitude for this gift. However, he indicates that his management knows a strident lack of school desks because he says - «In some classes, four pupils share a single desk».
To overcome this challenge, Julienne Ndayihaya, city councillor of Mugina, calls on all the natives and benefactors whose local associations are taking the path of the CDN to help address the challenges that schools in their respective areas face. Then recommends the maintenance and proper use of this school supplies. At this moment, the Municipal Education Department of Mugina reveals that it is facing a shortage of more than 6,000 school desks during this school year. Note that these 105 school desks were distributed to five basic schools, including Bwayi, Kavumu, Kayange, Mugina and MuyangeII of the same Municipal Department of Education.
